Eagles, Jlo and one plate of Chicken fried rice
For the past two months I have been trying to blog this particular one and could not get the time ...Somehow I managed to make time today!
Eagles, Jlo and Chicken fried rice....well they don have anything in common at all...so what is this all about.....Well, well...:) I was able to attend a Live performance of "The Eagles" 2 months back in Arkansas...They came down to perform as part of the celebrations for the Wal-mart Annual Shareholders meeting and we were absolutely thrilled to watch the performance!! The highlight was that this was a free function and we did not have to pay anything....:)) LOLzzz.....I am not a big listener to Eagles' music and I knew just a few of their numbers...They started off with "take it Easy" which was familiar to me and then moved to other numbers that were kinda first time for me,...
They played on for around 1 hr and suddenly exited out of the stage....The crowd went wild cos they han yet performed the classic one --> yeah Hotel California.....and everyone started screaming for them to come back..After a few minutes of drama , they were back with their guitars and sang "Hotel California"..Wow it was amazing..though they did not play the "famed acoustic version", it was still great. We have videotaped the song and I will be posting it out here soon....
The next day after the concert was the Walmart Shareholders meeting and me and thads managed to be there by 7.00 AM....There was loads of entertainment, finanical announcements, shareholder gripes and couple of gymnastic like shows, A small speech by Chris gardner(Based on whom the movie "pursuit of happiness" has been taken) , some performances by the American idol winner and other ppl...and finally the last performance of the day was (as obvious as it is ..:)) from J-Lo...! She sang a new number from her Spanish album and then did "waaitin for tonite" and another song that am unable to remember..
And then a month later came one plate of Chicken fried rice...I went for lunch with my colleague Sam to a thai restaurant "Taste of thai"..Let me say a few words about Sam..He has been with Walmart for 25 years and is a very experienced and senior member who newly joined my team...He has been in China with the China wal-mart team and is an absolute delight to be with....His quick sense of wit, unique style of management, his humor and zest for life is absolutely infectious..He is very fond of learning about other cultures (jus like me)...So he suggested that we should have lunch together to discuss on Hinduism cos he wanted to learn more on it...So we wnt to this wee li'l Thai restaurant ....I ordered chicken fried rice and he ordered some weirdo thai thingy.....It was a great lunch! we talked a lot about Hindu marriage customs, korean and chinese rituals....Sam has been for quite a long time in China and he knows a lot of chinese rituals, customs and stuff like that.....
Sam asked me an interesting question......so vidya, what are you gonna be when you grow older? I said am already old aint I? and Sam just chuckled...He said "the fact that you are telling you are already old proves that there is still a long way for you to go".....That was aninteresting question....Some food for thought....:)
On this note, I end my story....hopefully I will b bloggin soon enough!
