Farewell ..MJ!

Michael Jackson passed away on Thursday, June 25th! I was totally in shock on the day I heard this....My earliest memory of hearing a Michael Jackson song is when I was 9 0r 10 years old...We did not have cable TV and we only had Doordarshan...I was watching TV and an adverstisement for some kind of chocolate was being shown (I think it was Lacto-King). They used "Beat It!" as the BGM in the ad(now, copyright and IP laws were virtually non existent in India during that time).After watchin the ad, the song just got stuck in my head... I wondered...wow, what a great tune....I did not know who wrote/sang the song though.....a couple of years later - when I was in 11th or 12th, MTV was introduced in India and I think DD2 used to show Mtv videos ..that was the very first time I saw the original version of Beat It! featuring MJ...Boy, was I impressed! I loved his dance moves....I am not really a big follower of his music, but I was always interested in hearin his albums because for me MJ symbolised western music....After college I heard more of his albums and for me he has always been the ultimate pop star....

It is sad that he did not live a long life...inspite of the numerous controversies that dodged him throughout his career, he was a still a nice human being.....God bless you Michael....Your legacy lives on.....
